Galway United defeated Shelbourne by 3-1 in the First Division at Eamonn Deacy Park last night.
Conor O’Keeffe delivered a teasing ball into the box at the 12 minute mark, which Shane Doherty emphatically converted to give United the lead.
In the second-half, Killian Brouder headed the ball to the net from a David Hurley corner in the 50th minute, giving the home side a two-goal advantage against table-toppers Shelbourne.
Ruari Keating finished with aplomb in the 88th minute to give United a three-goal cushion before Shels scored a consolation through Brian McManus at the end.
Seven points now separate Shels and United at the top of the table.
