Galway’s Fiona Murtagh and Aifric Keogh joined John Morley on the Sunday Sports Show this afternoon to chat about their great success at the Tokyo Olympics.
The rowers became the first athletes from the county to win Olympic medals at the games as part of the W4 rowing team.
The pair, along with Dubliner Eimear Lambe and Skibbereen’s Emily Hegarty won bronze in the coxless fours.
Aifric comes from Furbo, just west of Galway City, while Fiona is from Moycullen near the waters of Lough Corrib.
Murtagh has returned to NUIG to complete a Masters degree, while Keogh is also a former NUIG student who rowed for the college which is nestled on the banks of the Corrib.
