Galway United were defeated 3-2 by Cork City in an end-to-end First Division game at Eamonn Deacy Park last night.
800 fans were welcomed back to the grounds for the first time in over a year.
United got their first goal through a Wilson Waweru header, to level affairs at 1-1 in the 24th minute.
Cork struck another goal, but Killian Brouder made it two goals in two weeks for United as he got the final touch on a Conor McCormack corner to make it 2-2 in a frantic first period.
Cork City’s Gordon Walker picked out Sean Kennedy in the box in the 78th minute and he duly struck a low shot past Conor Kearns to give City the lead.
