Sligo ended a 53-year wait for a Connacht title in the minor football championship last night.

In a repeat of the 2020 decider, Sligo held on for a famous 0-19 to 1-11 win over Roscommon.

The Rossies would finish the game with 14 players, after Paddy Higgins was dismissed in the second half.

There were jubilant scenes at the full-time whistle as Sligo became minor provincial champions for the first time since 1968.
