Two Sligo Rovers players have been ruled out of the first leg of their Europa Conference League first-round match against Hafnarfjardar.

The club says one player tested positive for Covid-19 in a case traced to outside the club, and a second player continues to test negative, but was deemed a close contact of a case outside the club and is self-isolating this week.

The first leg of the match is being played in Iceland this Thursday.


Meanwhile, Sligo Rovers have confirmed that 400 spectators can attend the UEFA Europa Conference League first qualifying round second leg against FH of Iceland at the Showgrounds on Thursday week July 15th.

This new capacity has been set after the match was upgraded to a test event for the return of spectators to sport.

The Bit O’ Red will distribute the 400 tickets to season pass holders.
