St. Colman’s South Mayo AC athletes had great success at Day 2 of the Junior & U23 National Championships.
The club picked up two gold, one silver and one bronze medal.
In the Junior Men’s, after two years absent from competition due to injury, Iarlaith Golding was back to his winning ways winning the Junior 110m Hurdes with a time of 14.14 finishing within the European Standard time of 14.15. Despite finishing within the European Standard, Iarlaith’s time narrowly misses out on European qualification due to today’s wind count.
Louise King won gold in the U23 high jump while Niamh O’Neill from Ballyhaunis won silver in the 100m hurdles.
Moya O’Connell secured bronze in the U20 400m hurdles.
A special mention must also go to their coach Jim Ryan.
