Dean Clancy progressed at the European U/22 Championships in Roseto, Italy last night.

The Irish light-welter posted a unanimous decision over Petr Novak of the Czech Republic, with Clancy winning the first round 10-9 across the board.

Earlier yesterday, Kieran Molloy advanced to the last 16.

The Galway welterweight beat Germany’s Dan Krotter on a 4-1 split decision over three, three minute rounds.

Molloy found the target with a solid body shot in the opening round and continued to dominate in rounds two and three of a tight contest.
