Fiona McHale has accepted an invitation to return to the Mayo Ladies Football panel.

The midfielder was one of a number of Carnacon players to leave the squad in 2018 following disagreements with manager Peter Leahy.

However, Leahy stepped down in January, replaced by Michael Moyles who offered an olive branch to the Carnacon contingent.

In an interview with Midwest Sport in January Fiona said she was open to a potential return.

She said “If they saw me being able to add something to the squad, and if they saw me as part of their plans, I’d be definitely willing to have a conversation or think about it for sure.”

McHale is one of four players from the club named in a provisional training panel.

The other Carnacon players are Sadhbh Larkin, Amy Dowling and Saoirse Walsh.
