Chris Barrett says he feels "incredibly privileged" to have donned the green and red of Mayo.

The corner-back has called time on his inter-county career after 13 years on the panel.

During that time, he won seven Connacht titles and an Allianz National league title.

He made a total of 85 appearances between league and championship, won an all-star in 2017 and represented Ireland that same year in the International rules series.

Barrett is the fifth player in recent weeks to retire from the Mayo panel.

The 33-year old was today nominated for an All-Star, alongside eleven of his Mayo teammates.

Belmullet GAA Chairman Pat Cowman says Chris has given years of service to Belmullet and Mayo describing him as an outstanding sportsman who just used to get on with his football.
