The death has taken place of John Power, former Secretary of Galway Football Board.
John served as Secretary of Galway Football in the glorious era that saw the Tribesmen win the Sam Maguire Cup in 1998 and 2001.
A native of Waterford, John who served as a Garda in Galway city has been battling illness for the past six years.
John Power gave tremendous service to Galway GAA. Along with the late Pat Egan who served as Chairman and the late Miko Kelly who served as
Treasurer the three people at the top table in the era of John O’Mahony successful tenure as Galway manager have now gone to their eternal reward.
To his wife Breda and daughter Michelle and extended family and friends we extend our sincere sympathy.
