Ballina RFC have cancelled their Return To Rugby Tag Event following the delay in moving to Phase Four of reopening the country.
The Tag Rugby Tournament scheduled for the 15th of August in Heffernan Park will not go ahead in compliance with public health advice.
The club had 24 teams booked in for the event as well as hotels, referees and other groundwork.
The club held a meeting last night and decided to cancel the event due to the health provisions set out by government yesterday.
Club Chairman Alan Rowe told Midwest Sport that Ballina RFC totally understand the Cabinet’s decision, but says the event is ‘no longer workable’ under the provisions.
