The Federation for Irish Sport is calling for the government to immediately introduce a ‘resilience fund’ for the sector to offset the impact of the covid-19 restrictions.

The Federation also believes that sport needs its own Task Force similar to the one set up for the Tourism Industry.

Revenue has dropped across organizations, as subscriptions, gate receipts, sponsorship, summer camp and coach education have all dried up, while running costs are still incurred.

Mary O’Connor, the CEO of the Federation for Irish Sport says funding is urgently needed.
