A Mayo athlete believes the postponement of the Olympics will benefit her as she trains and builds momentum for another year.
18-year-old Maeve Gallagher had her focus firmly on her leaving cert exams and the world championships this year.
However, with the postponement of the Tokyo games to 2021 and in the absence of the leaving certificate exams, the Swinford athlete can now focus on Olympic qualification.
The talented young woman has 24 national titles a cross three sports; cycling, athletics and triathlon.
She told Midwest Sport that she believes she is being considered for the triathlon in Tokyo.
