Mayo Ladies manager Peter Leahy is calling on all contact sport to be called off this year and argues that the LGFA and other sporting organisations should focus on a return to play in 2021.

Leahy believes that it is too difficult to run a championship in 2020 given the health and safety risk posed by the coronavirus.

The Westmeath native believes the LGFA should permit a November return date to training, so that squads can get ready for next season.

He is calling on all sporting organisations to make a definitive decision sooner rather than later, adding that it doesn't make sense to use players as guinea pigs for our entertainment on television.
