Connacht GAA President Gerry McGovern believes the risks of a return to play this year are too high and has urged the Association to focus completely on the 2021 All-Ireland Championships.

McGovern says that his chief concern is that enough is not known about Covid-19, like if it will come back again bigger and stronger.

He told RTE that by returning to play in the coming months we are putting players and their families at risk.

The Connacht GAA President says that the possibility of getting the virus is simply too serious and continued to say that we will not die for a game of football, but we could cause death by playing it.
