Connacht GAA officials remain hopeful that the senior championship game between Galway and New York, which has been postponed, will be played at a later date this Summer.

The game, scheduled for Gaelic Park in New York on 3rd May, has been postponed due to Covid-19.

However, the opening game of this year's championship - the Connacht senior football quarter final between London and Roscommon in Ruislip on May 2nd - still stands and will be monitored by GAA officials.

A spokesman for the Connacht Council says no decision has been made at this stage in relation to the London / Roscommon game, but said "it doesn't have the same urgency or logistical difficulties of the match in New York".
