Former Sligo footballer Dessie Sloyane will manage the Sligo under 20 football team for the 2020 season.
His appointment was formally ratified last night, although the Easkey man has already begun work with the under 20 panel.
Sloyane led Easkey footballers to an All-Ireland club junior football final last season – and previously worked as a senior selector with former Sligo manager Kevin Walsh.
Joining Sloyane on his under 20 management team are former Sligo footballers Con O’Meara, Michael McNamara and Charlie Harrison.
Former Mayo number one Fintan Ruddy is also part of the set-up as goalkeeping coach.
The 2020 under 20 football championship will begin in February with Sligo due to play Roscommon in a Connacht semi-final.
As part of the changes to the GAA’s Master Fixture List for 2020, the All-Ireland under 20 football semi-finals will replace the club finals as a Croke Park double-bill on St Patrick’s Day.
