Joe Schmidt has named a 38-man squad for the first two rounds of the Six Nations.

Among them are three uncapped players - all from Connacht.

Centre Tom Farrell, out-half Jack Carty and scrum-half Caolin Blade all get the nod.

Carty's inclusion comes at the expense of Ross Byrne.

There's no Dan Leavy, but Schmidt says the Leinster flanker will likely return when fully fit.

Connacht's Bundee Aki, Robbie Henshaw and Ultan Dillane are all named in Joe Schmidt's Six Nations squad.

The squad will embark on a warm weather training camp in Portugal next week ahead of their opening match against England at the Aviva Stadium on 2nd February.
