Assassin Boxing have confirmed that they’ve once again teamed up with TG4 to offer live coverage of ‘The Homecoming’ on December 7th from The Royal Theatre, Castlebar.

December 7th will see Ray Moylette challenge for his first title and look to gain world ranking credentials if he is to beat Mexican, Christian Uruzquieta. While the co main event bout will see Gary Spike O Sullivan return to the ring as he continues to go in search of a world title opportunity.

Moylette commented: ‘It’s an honour to have TG4 on board. This is a massive event for my county, but now hopefully a massive event for this country. I said I want to bring big time boxing back to Ireland, and this is a good start’

Professional boxing from Ireland has only been broadcast terrestrially once before in almost a decade.

Ray Moylette’s manager, Kaz Evans said:‘To think Irish boxers have been starved of the right coverage and platform, we now have a partner that can turn professional boxers from local to hero’s to Irish sporting greats’.

Assassin Boxing too were heavily involved in bringing television to the table for the show they co promoted in March.

They’ve once again struck a deal with TG4, and it appears the station will be the home of Irish boxing for the foreseeable future.

Conor Slater from Assassin Boxing commented:
‘It’s brilliant to be working again with Rónán and TG4. They are a wonderful entity to be involved with. They share our vision for where Irish boxing should be, and they have really taken the plunge and have backed Irish boxing, they should be commended. This is a huge opportunity for everyone involved and hopefully one that will become a regular fixture in the calendar year. The country has so many sporting super stars, Robbie Keane, Brian O Driscoll, Katie Taylor, and now we have a platform for Moylette to become an Irish sporting great.’

TG4 will show 3 hours of live boxing on December 7th, following on from their coverage of March’s show which was also shown over a 3 hour slot.

Head of Sport at TG4, Rónán O Coisdealbha said:
‘It’s a honour to be able to show live coverage of ‘The Homecoming’ on December 7th. We really look forward to playing a part in showing a sport that has provided so many great nights for the Irish public. We hope to continue to work with Moylette and Spike O Sullivan as they work towards world title shots’.
