I knew Joe from the shop in castlebar he was a gentleman may his soul rest in peace.
Over the years, we built a bond—breaking down barriers together (literally), and at the end of long days, sharing pints and stories. But beyond the Rás, Joe was a man of immense kindness and generosity, dedicating himself to helping those struggling with mental health challenges. Against all odds, he established his own charity and made an immeasurable impact on those in need in his beloved Mayo.
Joe never sought recognition—he simply wanted to help. In doing so, he became the true definition of an unsung hero. His legacy is one of quiet strength, compassion, and real change. RIP Joe.
