Hughie Anthony Kilbane

Knockbreaga, Newport, Co. Mayo - peacefully at the Mayo Hospice, Castlebar - in his 99th year.

Predeceased by his wife Mary and son Michael.

Deeply regretted by his nephew, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.R.I.P.

Reposing at Grealis's Funeral Home, Mulranny (F28 XK12 ) on Thursday evening from 5 o'clock with removal at 6.45 to St. Brendan's Church, Tiernaur arriving at 7 o'clock.

Requiem Mass on Friday morning at 11 o'clock with burial afterwards in Killeen Cemetery .

Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on Burrishoole Parish Facebook page.

I was saddened to receive the news of Hughes's death, one of life's gentlemen. Over the years I was always the designated driver visiting Hughie and Mary with my mother and Anthony James. I continued that tradition of visiting as Anthony James loved calling to see Hughie chatting and having the craic. We visited a few months ago, and when we left I repeated once again that he was an amazing individual so full of the joys of life and living. He was always very interested in recalling his life in Scotland and of course, his favorite football team naming out all the players. His deep faith was always at the top of his list, and his love for Knock was indescribable. He left his mark on this world and he has earned a front seat in heaven without any doubt., one of life's true gentlemen May Hughie Rest in Peace
