Sincere sympathy and condolences to all of the McAllister family. We are forever grateful for Fr. Barry being our priest for 29 years. The attendance at St Elizabeth's Vigil Mass last night and today at St. John's showed the depth of appreciation and respect for him. Many people commented " he was simply the best". As well as being our priest he was a true friend and always there for us. We will never forget him. No longer in pain - Rest in peace now Fr. Barry. Our Lady of Knock, pray for him.
Adam and Clare Marnell (née Coyne) Bootle, Liverpool
Sending our deepest sympathies and condolences to the McAllister family. Fr Barry has guided me through my first holy communion, reconciliation, confirmation and finally my marriage back in 2018. I have so many happy memories, not only the smart quips coming out of church but the times we spent together at family occasions. He never missed a trick with a wink or a cheeky smile after a smart comment! He never failed to make us laugh.
He listened, offered sound advice and supported us as a family through the good times and bad. He was not just a parish priest to us but a family friend. What an honour it was to know him. May he rest in peace. Clare x

Our condolences and deepest sympathy to the McAllister family. Father Barry was my parish priest, we have so many happy memories of family gatherings with him over the years. He was our biggest supporter- married us 10 years ago and was always there for us to provide a listening ear, support, advice and some charming wit to make us smile. We are so grateful to have known and spent time with such a wonderful person. Fr Barry- it's been an honour, rest in peace. Thinking of you all at this time.
Jean, Monique and family
We were parishioners of St Elizabeth’s for the whole 29 years Father Barry served there. The most beautiful soul with a sprinkle of mischief and fun. Father Barry knew, and was genuinely interested, in his community. He remembered everyone’s names, and struggles and always had an ear to listen, followed by warm words of encouragement or advice. He was active in the lives of 5 generations of our family and loved to catch up on all the latest news, and gossip (with laughter, not judgment).
Father Barry, you will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know you, RIP and thank you for your kind service to our family 🙏☘️❤️
