Sally McHugh née Tuohy

Market Street, Swinford Co. Mayo in her 90th year - peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of the staff of St. Attractas Nursing Home, Charlestown, on 20th November 2023.

Predeceased by her husband Seamus.

Sally will be greatly missed by her daughter Moya, sons Seamus, Niall, Andrew, Ian, Patrick, daughters-in-law Noreen, Margaret, Geraldine, Maureen and Claire, son-in-law Seamus, 22 adored grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, brother Michael, staff and residents of St Attractas Nursing Home and all her extended and much loved family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Boland’s Funeral Home, Swinford (F12 K122) this Wednesday evening 22nd November from 5 o’clock until 8 o’clock.

Funeral Mass will take place this Thursday 23rd November at 12 o’clock in Our Lady Help Of Christians Church, Swinford with burial afterwards in Kilconduff Cemetery, Swinford.

The recent departure from this life of Sally McHugh, Market Street, Swinford, is the closing chapter of her long and productive life, leaving behind precious memories for all her family to savor.

Sally's earlier life wasn't easy with the loss of her husband Seamus, who passed to his eternal reward in 1979. With a young family it was only natural she struggled to cope with that loss, but purity of faith, wisdom, common sense, perseverance, the ability to make do with what you have instead of feeling helpless, were all huge factors in helping to carve out a future for all her family.

Her gentle soul has now departed from this earth to that of the elect, where she will be welcomed into her new home by her Maker.
