A former Roscommon senior footballer who passed away suddenly last week will be laid to rest later today.
Martin Fallon, also known as Fozzy, of Strokestown, Co. Roscommon, worked as a paramedic and died suddenly while on duty on Thursday last.
Mr. Fallon, aged in his mid 50s, was attached to the Boyle Ambulance Base.
On the football field, he committed his career to his local club in Strokestown, and also played inter county football for Roscommon at minor, u21 and senior levels.
Martin Fallon won a Connacht Senior Football Championship medal with Roscommon in 1991, as well as county senior titles with Strokestown in 1992 and 2002 respectively.
He is survived by his wife Ann, children Jack and Amy, along with his extended family, colleagues and wide circle of friends.
Mr. Fallon’s Funeral Mass will take place this morning at Strokestown Parish Church from 11:00am.
He will be laid to rest afterwards in Strokestown Cemetery.
