Macra are to host the 18th annual ‘Aurivo North-West Kings and Queens’ event in Sligo this weekend.
Contestants from across the North West and further afield will flock to the Radisson Blue Hotel in Sligo tomorrow morning, to meet with the event committee and judges before partaking in a day of activities.
Judges will be keeping a close eye on the contestants, before picking the overall winner.
Contestants from all nine counties in the North West will be involved – Mayo, Sligo, Galway, Roscommon, Leitrim, Donegal, Monaghan, Cavan and Longford –with Louth, Wexford and Cork also to be represented.
Tomorrow evening, over 280 young members of Macra will enjoy a gala banquet, with the chance to see the king and queen hopefuls take part in the interview process, which will help to determine the winner.
Also, the winner of the Aurivo North-West silage competition will be announced on the night, following a huge number of entries from young farmer members of Macra.
