After almost four years of inactivity work has recommenced on the Ballyhaunis Primary Care Centre.

Work on the primary care centre ceased after the developer stopped work on the site in mid-2021 after it became no longer economically viable.

The HSE has said the centre will employ approximately 18 staff and will deliver GP services, public health nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, dental, immunisation, child and family psychology, dietetics, podiatry, home support and visiting integrated care services.

Local Fine Gael councillor Alma Gallagher says 2025 is starting off on the right note for East Mayo.

Cllr. Gallagher is hopeful the project will be completed this summer.

She has been giving more details to Midwest Radio’s Michael D. McAndrew.
