Gardaí arrested a man after he was allegedly found in possession of a firearm on a train yesterday evening.
The 3.05pm service from Sligo to Dublin was stopped at Connolly Station after reports of anti-social behaviour onboard.
Several Garda Armed Response Units were deployed and a man in his 50s was arrested.
Officers seized a suspected firearm and evacuated Connolly Station in order to carry out a security sweep of both the train and the station.
The area was subsequently declared safe.
The man remains detained at a Garda Station in Dublin.
