The number of people in hospital with the flu has surpassed 1 thousand for the third day in a row.
The HSE has confirmed it's an increase of nearly 500 in the last week.
Chief Clinical Officer Colm Henry, says there are 64 patients in intensive care with the flu today.
He says there's ‘significant pressure’ across the entire healthcare system.
