Basic infrastructure such as electricity and phone lines are constantly experiencing outages in the Erris area, and it’s simply not acceptable, according to local Fine Gael councillor Gerry Coyle.
The councillor insists that it is past time for the telecom services, the ESB and Mayo County Council to address the level of trees overhanging on to roads, and shrubbery growing on electricity and telecom poles.
He says any storm, at all, and the vital services are all interrupted in the area.
