The search has been stood down for a woman missing from the Athlone area, after a body was located this afternoon..

In a statement this evening Gardai say that following the discovery of a woman's body this afternoon in Athlone, the missing person appeal in respect of Mirjana Pap has been stood down.

Gardai have thanked the public for their assistance.
