167 people have been killed on the roads so far this year.


Gardaí will be out in force until January 6th in their Christmas Road Safety Campaign being launched today.


The Christmas period is one of the times when road users are at the highest risk of being involved in a road death or serious crash.


Superintendent Liam Geraghty from the Garda Press Office has this message for those out celebrating the festive season.
