A local councillor has proposed a civic reception to be held for two Mayo boxers in recognition of their World Silver medal wins at the world championships.

Ballyhaunis Carlagh Peake and Westport's Nell McLoughlin contested their respective world finals at the weekend and came home from Montenegro with silver medals.

Both boxers had homecomings yesterday evening.
