Management of The Towers Bar and Restaurant Westport has announced that the business will close.

In what has been an ‘incredibly difficult decision, owner Tom Bourke and the Towers team have described it as a “bittersweet day” as they close one chapter to begin a new one.

A new venture begins for those at The Towers as they move to the next project of JJ O’Malley’s on Bridge Street.

In a post on Facebook this afternoon, The Towers Bar and Restaurant posted the following:

“Today marks a bittersweet day as we announce the closing of The Towers Bar and Restaurant. It has been an incredibly difficult decision to make, but now feels like the right time to close this chapter as we begin a new one.

“First and foremost we would like to thank our incredible staff, past and present, we owe our success to your hard work, dedication, and passion. Without you, The Towers would not have been what it was – a place filled with warmth, great food, and wonderful memories.

“To our loyal customers and friends, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Over the years, you have become more than just patrons – you’ve become part of our extended family.

“As we close this chapter, we are excited to focus on our new venture at JJ O'Malley's on Bridge Street. We hope to see many familiar faces and receive your continued support as we begin this new journey. Here’s to building a new thriving business together and creating something Special in JJ’s!

“We are in the process of contacting anyone who has a future booking with us so please bear with us whilst we go through the booking list.

“All vouchers purchased for the Towers will be Honoured in JJ O’Malleys.

“With heartfelt thanks Tom Bourke and The Towers Team.”
