A Conamara councillor has been selected to stand for Independent Ireland in the upcoming General Election in the Galway West constituency.
Independent Ireland has announced that Cllr. Noel Thomas has been officially selected by the party to run in the 5-seater in the next general election.
He has represented the people of Conamara for over a decade, topping the poll in the recent local elections.
Independent Ireland secured three seats in the Conamara electoral area last June, making the party the largest grouping in the municipal district.
