A status yellow rain warning has come into effect for 18 counties this morning.
It includes all of Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim, Roscommon, Tipperary and Waterford.
Met Eireann is warning of a risk of localised flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions until early tomorrow morning (Wed).
