Achill is seeking volunteers this Saturday

Everyone is invited to be part of Achill’s Biggest Sporting Event - the Achill Half Marathon & 10K  - on this Saturday, July 6th.

Volunteers are required for various positions on the day and leading up to the weekend.

A Volunteer meeting will be held in Ted Lavelle’s, Cashel tonight (Wednesday) at 8pm and it’s important that as many volunteers as possible attend this meeting.

All volunteers will be entered into a draw for great prizes including Hotel Breaks, Vouchers etc!!

For the attention of residents along the Achill Half Marathon & 10K routes: the Achill Half Marathon starts at 10.30am on Saturday morning and will travel from Keel via Bunnacurry, Dugort.

Runnrs are expected to be on the route for 2 ½ to 3 hours.

There will be restricted access for cars for a time around Keel beach areas and HQ area, also the Slievemore, Crumpaun road area.

The 10K starts at 11.15am and the runners will travel along to Ballinasally Road, runners are expected to be on the route for approximately 1 hour.

The organisers apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope there will be lots of support the runners on the day.
