All 18 seats were taken on Sligo County Council at the weekend.

BALLYMOTE/TUBBERCURRY

In Ballymote Tubbercurry, no candidate was deemed elected until after the 6th count, where outgoing councillors Paul Taylor of Fianna Fail and Independent Michael Clarke took seats.

Independent's Joseph Queenan was deemed elected following the 8th count while Fianna Gael colleagues Gerard Mullaney and Dara Mulvey reclaimed their seats following count 10.

The final two seats were taken at count 12, by Fianna Fail colleagues Liam Brennan and Barry Gallagher.

SLIGO/DRUMCLIFFE

In Sligo Drumcliffe Fine Gael's Thomas Walsh was elected on the first count.

Sinn Fein's Thomas Healy and Independent Marie Casserly were both elected following count 3.

On count 4 Fianna Fail's Edel McSharry took a seat there and her party colleague Donal Gilroy was elected on count 6.

SLIGO/STRANDHILL

Finally in Sligo Strandhill long serving Independent Declan Bree retained his seat on the first count and Fianna Fail's Tom MacSharry also took a seat on count 1.

Fine Gael's Fergal Nealon was elected following count 2 .

Counting then continued for some time and the final 3 seats were filled following the 10th count, namely by Labour's Nessa Cosgrove, Sinn Fein's Arthur Gibbons and PBP's Gino O'Boyle.
