Gerry Murray was re-elected to Mayo County Council this evening after the first count.

The Sinn Féin cllr will he hopeful that his party colleague John Sheahan can be elected tomorrow.

Sheahan called for a recount having missed out on a seat by a single vote.

After his election, cllr Murray spoke to Midwest Radio’s Election Panel.
