At this week’s Municipal District meeting of the authority  the Part 8 Planning was unanimously approved for a 16km coastal walkway that winds along the spectacular coastline from the world famous Céide Fields to the iconic Downpatrick Head in Ballycastle.

Local Fine Gael councillor Jarlath Munnelly singled out the importance of the local community who initiated the project from the start. 

The project was initiated by the local community working with local landowners, and Mayo County Council.
