The long awaited x-ray facility at the Tuam Primary care centre is now open for use.
That's according to Galway TD Sean Canney, who says the facility has been tied up in paperwork since funding was first granted in 2017.
The facility, which is available by appointment through a GP will help take the pressure off emergency departments such as Galway and Castlebar.
The Independent Deputy says the X-rays are sent to Ballinasloe to be read, so there is no need for people to have to travel into Galway City.
