Airlines have been fined more than 5 million euro for allowing refugees to fly into Ireland without proper documents in the past five years.

There were over 3,000 "undocumented cases" since 2019, with 1,500 euro charged in each case.

The airlines received 990 fines last year, equating to over 1.4 million euro, the latest figures show.
