The head of the Oireachtas Media committee says RTE is "in limbo" with no board leadership.
Media Minister Catherine Martin was before the committee last night to answer questions about the shock resignation of the RTE chair last week.
She'll also face statements in the Dail this afternoon.
Minister Martin said she was told by the current Director General that his predecessor, Dee Forbes, was not paid an exit package when she resigned last summer.
Former RTÉ Correspondent Ciaran Mullooly has called for a new board at RTÉ.
He says Staff and licence payers need to have full confidence as the rebuild of RTÉ gets underway and the state funding must now be shared with local radio.”
