A new multi-annual rural water programme has been launched which will see hundreds of householders across county Mayo benefit from improved water quality.
That's according to Mayo Fine Gael TD Alan Dillon.
The programme, which runs from 2024-2026, will see different water schemes eligible for grants which will allow the local authority to roll out clean running water to many households that cannot obtain it.
He says the local authorities will meet with the department in coming weeks to organise workshops which will aid in the roll out of the scheme.
