A man has been charged with making threat to kill or cause harm to a Galway West Deputy.
47 year old Daragh Flaherty appeared at Galway District Court, accused of making a threat to kill or cause serious harm to Government Chief Whip Hildegarde Naughton.
A number of bail conditions have been imposed upon him, including that he must stay away from the homes and offices of all Galway politicians.
The incident is alleged to have occurred on January 10 at an unknown location in the district court area of Galway, according to RTÉ.
Mr O'Flaherty, with an address at New Estate, Clarinbridge is charged with, without lawful excuse making to a named woman, a threat, intending her to believe it would be carried out, to kill or cause serious harm.
He was remanded on bail to appear again in court on March 13 for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions on how the case is to proceed.
