Following a meeting of Sligo County Council this week, a progress update was given on the 39 new local authority housing developments at Camross in Ballymote.
The update has been welcomed by local Councillor Dara Mulvey.
Councillor Mulvey has supported the approval of these plans that are due to start in the latter part of this year.
He says that people in need of social housing are contacting him almost on a daily basis and he acknowledges the hard work of the housing department in the council for helping these people to find an adequate place to stay.
