This morning’s meeting of Ballina Municipal District was adjourned for 15 mins as a mark of respect to the late Councillor Eddie Staunton.
Eddie was laid to rest yesterday.
The Crossmolina based Fine Gael councillor served as a local representative for more than 30 years and was the Cathaoirleach of the county in 2004.
Warm tributes were paid to the late councillor at today's meeting and sympathy was expressed to his wife Margaret and family.
