Halloween is almost here, and one way to celebrate it, is by experiencing the annual "Horror In The Barracks” taking place from this Friday, at the Military Barracks in Castlebar.
It promises to be both a scary and fun event that also supports local causes.
The event, that raises funds for local charities, gets underway this Friday evening at 7pm, and runs from 7pm -10pm each evening, until Sunday at the Castlebar Barracks.
An autism-friendly session takes place on Sunday from 2pm -4pm.
For families with younger members, a special kid-friendly session also takes place on Sunday from 4pm- 6 pm. This session is suitable for children under 12 years accompanied by an adult.
The main beneficiary for the 2023 event is Mayo Autism Camp, Castlebar Autism Friendly Town.
Other organisations that will benefit include Order of Malta, Breaffy LGFA, Castlebar Mitchels Hurling Club, Davitt College Debs Committee, St Joseph's Secondary School Debs Committee, St Gerald's College Debs Committee, Ballyheane FC, Ballyheane Community Council.
Walter Tuffy is one of the organisers and he’s been giving more details to Midwest News Editor Teresa O’Malley…
