Childcare providers say they're burned-out and stressed from trying to keep their businesses afloat.

Bus-loads of preschool owners and staff have closed their doors and are making their way to Dublin to protest outside the Dáil today.

Since 2010, the government has paid childcare providers 69 euro per child per week, as part of the Early Childhood Care and Education Scheme.

The Federation of Early Childhood Providers says it needs to see an increase in funding so it can pay staff and the rising cost of bills.

Senator Lisa Chambers say that members of the Fianna Fail parliamentary party will meet with Minister Roderic O'Gorman later this evening to discuss the issue.

She told Midwest Radio's Alannah Nolan that because of a price freeze brought in by government a number of years ago, providers are unable to rise their costs to matching rising inflation....
