Traffic congestion has become an issue in the town of Ballinrobe, and in particular on Fridays.
Ballinrobe Councillor Damien Ryan spoke to Midwest News last week following the final race meeting of the year in the town on Friday September 15, detailing that he would raise the issue of traffic in the town at the Joint Policing Committee meeting scheduled for last Friday September 22.
As a result of the meeting, another meeting has been arranged between Garda representatives and local representatives of Ballinrobe to discuss the problem.
Although Cllr Ryan says that this is more of an engineering problem than it is one for an Garda Síochána, they aim to work together to deal with the situation in the short term until a bigger project can begin to provide a bypass.
