€21,800 has been allocated to the North Mayo Heritage Centre in Ballina under the 2023 Rural Innovation and Development Fund.
This funding is given through the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine.
Mayo Deputy Michael Ring has welcomed the fund, stating that the Government are keen on supporting these initiatives in the agri food tourism sector and want to build on the progress that they have already made.
Deputy Ring believes that schemes such as this are a great testament to the work that has been done to develop the Wild Atlantic Way which has opened up a whole new brand of tourism to the West of Ireland in places like Achill and Belmullet.
